Club Services director David Heath
Hout Bay Rotary club service is one of the four "avenues of service" for Rotarians to follow and this grouping specifically focuses on strengthening fellowship within Rotary structures, maintaining relationships with other clubs and ensuring the smooth functioning of the club itself.
Fellowship of Rotary is rewarded with "pay back" in the form of companionship, wonderful memories and the plain, good old fashioned company of friends and camradie.
This is all in return for the work put towards one's particular "avenue of service" within Rotary, whether it be fundraising events, welfare projects, creating international goodwill or the administrative aspects of club services work.
Rotary Club of Hout Bay places great emphasis on the felloowship aspects of club life.
The avenue of club service therefore provides as much satisfaction to many Rotarians as does working on actual "field" community projects. As you progress within Rotary, you will most probably work on all "avenues of service" over the years and gain insight to the many interesting aspects of being a Rotarian and its worldwide network.
The "Lookout", Harbour, Tues, 7.00pm
Hout Bay Rotary Club is well known for its welcoming nature and zest. It has a congenial "home" at the Atlantic Boat Club in the Hout Bay Harbour in the same building as the Lookout Restaurant. The club overlooks the motor launch mooring section of the harbour and has a stunning view of Chapman's Peak Drive across the bay. Most visitors describe the club as having one of the most impressive settings worldwide.

The meeting room itself is both air-conditioned and well-equipped for presentations, with the regular evening meal enjoyed by club members at their weekly meetings brought to the premises by outside caterers. Fellowship afterwards can be enjoyed in the Atlantic Club bar lounge where Rotarians are admitted on Tuesday evenings after the meeting for free, refreshment being at reduced club prices for Rotarians and their guests.
Meetings are friendly, informal & a meal
The club has a regular schedule of visits to other Rotary clubs, called "raids", and organises club fellowship functions at local restaurants or arranges country trips during any on year. All functions including the Rotary regular weekly meetings are organised and run by the club administration committee under its director of that particular year and which committee is responsible for planning and the effective day-to-day operation of the club.
The club has a regular speaker programme organised by club services
