Hout Bay Rotary is looking ahead to the time when primary school kids will be cheering at the 2022 Soccer World Cup to be held in China. Already Rotary is distributing soccer balls to children in the needy areas of Hangberg and Imizamo Yethu, thanks to the co-operation of sponsors FNB. This donation was made with the support of the staff at Sentinel Primary School which serves the Hangberg community, a largely depressed area currently suffering from a depression in the fishing industry and which is in the Hout Bay area.
Seen here in the shadow of the Chapman's Peak mountains with kids from the school, are (L) Steve Clegg, who is heading up the development of Rotary Hout Bay's junior youth movement Rotaract, the current president of the club (C) Joe Schwach and senior sports master at Sentinel Scholl, Malvin Adams (R). Rotary supports many such projects in the Hout Bay area.
